What is wheel-lift towing?

A wheel-lift truck has a metal yoke that slides under the drive wheels and lifts only that end of your vehicle off the ground - the other end rolls on its own wheels. It is faster than a flatbed and fits into tight streets and lots where a flatbed cannot.

Is wheel-lift safe for my car?

For many standard FWD or RWD sedans, a wheel-lift is a common method. Do not assume that for AWD or an EV. Tesla's Model 3 manual recommends a flatbed and only allows a wheel-lift with dollies that keep all four wheels off the ground, under its 35-mile and dolly-speed limits. Can you fit onto a narrow French Quarter or Bywater street?

Usually yes. Wheel-lift trucks are built for narrow, one-way, oak-lined streets and tight courtyard driveways. Text a photo of the street or entrance when you call and we'll confirm access with the operator first. A few of the oldest, tightest blocks in the Quarter and Marigny require working from the nearest cross street, which the operator can arrange.

How much does wheel-lift towing cost?

Our published light-duty hookup starts at $95. That is the hookup charge, not the total. Ask the operator for mileage, equipment, and any after-hours charges before the truck rolls.

Will you jump start and then tow if the car will not run?

A jump is sometimes all you need, with no tow. If the car still will not run, ask the operator whether a jump-and-tow is available and how it is priced. Do not assume jump labor is included in the tow.
